Collin Bernsen in Puppet Master II (1991)
I've heard about this series for a while, and from what I've seen on net, everything looks promising: outrageous ideas (puppets that kill!), over-the-top situations, and amateur level acting, all the essential ingredient for an entertaining low budget B-movie experience. Alas, it did not turn out that way.
There's too much talking, not enough action. (amateur acting not helping.) The plot is paper thin, feels like a narrative of a 30 minute TV episode being stretched into the length of a feature film. On a slightly more positive note, the puppets are nicely designed, menacing and sinister; and a couple of nicely created gore effects (giving life to a human scaled puppet.) Lastly, there's Collin Bersen.
While not particularly impressive acting wise, he is certainly wonderful to look at. And he also bares his behind in a quick scene (THAT was an unexpected surprise.) Perhaps I can dig up more of his works!
