Robert Conrad in The Wild Wild West (1965)
Season 1
more info about this series @ IMDB
I have finally started re-watching this series, starting with the very first season!
To my surprise, The first season is in black and white. (what I've seen as a child have been in color- which began with season two.) The narrative can get repetitive quickly if you watch episodes back to back, but watching Robert Conrad in action in his tight, tight costume, (those pants! Gee!) and uttering some ridiculous lines with his awesome voice, it can only be a pleasure!
I've included episode title cards among the screencaps, so if you are interested in seeing the episodes yourself, it will be an easy reference. (Let me make a suggestion, if you are only watching one episode out of the whole season, check out The Night of the Double Edged Knife, the moaning he made while he's tied up...)

One of my childhood favorites. Thanks much for sharing. :)
ReplyDeletePicture #6- now THAT'S what I'm talkin' about!!! Robert Conrads ass left an indelible impression on me as a child (and continues ;)! ). His "Pretty-boy punk that needs a stiff dick up his ass" persona is captured perfectly in a film called "Palm Springs Weekend"- recommended if you can find it. A few years ago I found a book about WWW (neglected to note the title alas) that quoted a very reluctant and exasperated costume designer (male) for the show that finally said (in effect): "Alright, YEAH! We designed his costume to specifically feature his ass!! Happy now?!". Even as a kid I knew it had to be intentional. I see even Conrad has been quoted as acknowledging it. Considering his jumpsuit and pants on "Black Sheep Squadron" were similarily "snug" it would be ridiculous to deny anyway!!
ReplyDeleteOOPS- I mean pic #7!!!
ReplyDeleteOne of my all time favorites in my childhood and I actually even saw him in person as a kid and he was wearing this outfit. I saw an interview with him the other day that was done I think around 2008 where he stated that he bust out the bottom of those pants so many times lol. Tons of shirtless scenes in that series as well as in Black Sheep Squadron. He was not shy about his body in the least.
ReplyDeleteThat ass!!
