Andoni Gracia in The Uninvited Guest (2004)
With a first act that reminds me of Panic Room in terms of mood and intensity. What happen if some stranger you let in disappeared in your house, and you believe he/she is still inside, observing you? The suspense was perfectly delivered through many wonderful set ups and camera works, I rewind many times just to analyze these sequences.
And did I mention how awesome the house is? I want to live there!
The final act and the conclusion can throw some people off, as the film abandons its thriller personality and switches to a surreal, philosophical tone. For those expecting a neat and straight forward answer to the mystery, be warned.
Andoni Gracia is wonderful as the lead, playing the role of an emotionally fragile architect brilliantly, there are many challenging scenes and he handles each of them spot on. (The scene with the telephone was a highlight for me.)
Highly recommend!
